I think part of my favourite thing about Godzilla, not every iteration mind you, is that for the most part he comes across as a broken, charred, hurt creature. His 'attacks', misunderstood, only lead to people lashing out and attacking back. Some monsters create their own enemies from being purely evil. While the big Gojira has definitely had his stay in the halls of pure evil, I for one, much more prefer the broken animal that didn't ask to be.
I mean, look at how far that radioactive lizard has roamed! He can't be confined, and so far, he can't be killed.
